The “Gladio Alato” project was created to provide the personnel of the “66th Airborne Infantry Regiment Trieste” with a specific fixed-blade knife that incorporates the spirit, symbolism, and needs of the unit. The squared blade is reminiscent of the Gladius from which it takes its name, and the handle is a classic military tactical dagger design, but with a high-grip texture.

Given the tactical nature of the unit’s operations, we have added features to the dagger to make it suitable for emergency use, such as a glass breaker with a hole and two additional holes on the guard to allow, in case of emergency, the attachment of the knife to other equipment.

The “66th Airborne Infantry Regiment Trieste” is based in Forlì, part of the “Friuli Airborne Brigade,” and is the only airborne infantry unit in the Italian Army.
